Mr. Gopala Krishna completed his M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and has more than 10 years of experience in Geotechnical and Civil Design, Tendering, Risk Analysis, Monitoring and Execution of different Foundation works, slope stabilization works, Geotechnical Investigation works, Reinforced Soil Structures works, Gabion Walls works, Raw Water Reservoir works, Temporary retaining structures such as cofferdams & sheet piling works, Flood Protection & River Training Works, Rock fall Netting Systems, Flexible & Rigid Pavements and Ground Improvement works for Roads, Rail, Industrial, Residential, Commercial, Oil and Gas Projects in India and other countries.

Key Expertise:

  • Geotechnical and Structural design of deep foundations (bored cast – in – situ Piles and Driven Piles) and shallow foundations (isolated and raft) for all residential and commercial buildings, bridge abutments, piers etc. as per relevant IS, BS, EC, ACI Codes. (Used software like L-PILE6, GEO5, GROUP 2D & 3D, SAFE 8.0 and SHAFT6).
  • Bearing capacity calculations and settlement analysis for shallow foundations and design of shallow foundation as per BS, DIN, ACI codes (used software DC – FOOTING)
  • Design of cantilever and anchored secant pile shoring system , touching (contiguous) piles, diaphragm wall, girder plank shoring system and sheet pile for basement works, deep excavation works etc. (used software DC – SOFTWARE and GEO5)
  • Design of ground improvement works likeVibroflotation stone columns (Dry bottom feed and wet top feed) and rammed stone columns (Used software STONE C)
  • Slope stability analysis in soils and rocks with rock anchors, rock bolts with grouting (used software SLIDE and GEO5-Slope stability & Rock stability)
  • Design of reaction assembly/kentledges for pile load tests, rock bolts and cable anchor with preparation of load test reports for initial and routine load test carried out on different capacities and a subsequent analysis and prediction of behavior based on relevant codes and various methods
  • Technical support into the wider commercial and contract management teams within the company initially to develop geotechnical solutions to win the work fallowed by the development of fully detailed design for construction.
  • Pre-Tender design works for all shoring, ground improvement, slope stabilization and foundation works
  • Preparation of design concepts and detailed design reports and of construction methodology as per the design
  • Interpretation of soil data from the samples received from site and preparing the repot

Prof. M.R.Madhav has been actively practicing his subject through several consultancy projects. They are too numerous to list. His services have been requisitioned by World Bank and seconded to Coal India (1999-2003) for stabilization and greening of overburden dumps of Central, Mahanadi, Northern, Southeastern and Western Coal Fields (about 125 projects), CRRI, New Delhi (2003-2005) for several of their consultancies (Port connectivity, Kol dam, Embankment in Rann of Kuchch, Himalayan Expressway, etc.), Navi Mumbai SEZ, Mumbai (2006-2008) for ground improvement works for their project at Dronagiri, Energy Infratech (2008 to present) for Bhavanapadu Thermal Project on Soft Marine clay, K V K Energy for their SV Power Project, Chattisgarh, IVRCL for Chitrapuri, Navayuga for their SEZ at Hyderabad, etc. In addition his innovative use of gabions to stabilize the coast and protect Gandhar Fields of ONGC and the 24 m and 40 m (the highest wall in Asia) high reinforced earth walls at Vijayawada are unique and noteworthy.
